Speed Range Configuration settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

Start Speed

This parameter denotes the speed at which the test will start.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

End Speed

This parameter denotes the speed at which the test will end.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

Split Runs

To perform a Split Run, where the coastdown test is split into different speed ranges, you can click on the + button to add another speed range.

Click on the X to remove any additional speed ranges.

Breakdown Interval

Specify the ∆v speed interval that each run will be broken down into (cannot be 0 km/h).

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

Trigger settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

Requires Trigger

Select this option to stop the software from reading false coastdowns (i.e. braking into a turnaround point). When this option is ticked, the software will not record a coastdown result unless the trigger is active.

Releasing the trigger at any time during a coastdown will invalidate that run.

Trigger Channel

The trigger channel will be the channel input used for the trigger. Click on the dropdown arrow to open the list and select the required channel

Accuracy settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

Statistical Accuracy (%)

This setting defines the level at which a test will be regarded as ‘Good’. If the run does not meet the entered accuracy, the accuracy gauge on the dashboard will report NOT OK and the result will be orange in the Test Results table.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

Minimum Sets

This setting defines the minimum number of complete sets (1 set = 1 run in both directions) that is required before the statistical accuracy will start calculating.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

Run Pair Avg Method

This setting defines the averaging method used for the run pairs.

You can select either Harmonic or Arithmetic by clicking on the dropdown arrow.

Final Avg Method

This setting defines the averaging method used for the final result.

You can select either Harmonic or Arithmetic by clicking on the dropdown arrow.

Deceleration settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

Ignore runs that exceed (g)

This setting should be applied to stop the software from including incorrect coastdown runs (for example, braking into a corner) in the accuracy calculations.

Set the required maximum level of g that will determine if a run is included or not.

The software will ignore all runs that exceed the set level.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value, or type the required value directly into the value box.

Smooth Level

Specify the smoothing level that will be applied to the deceleration.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value, or type the required value directly into the value box.

Speed Quality settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

Enter criteria that will quickly identify whether there has been a ‘Speed Jump’ during the coastdown run. When this setting is selected, a PASS/FAIL column for the speed quality will be added to the Results Table to indicate if the criteria have been met after each run.

Check

Tick the Check box to make the software check the speed quality.

Speed Threshold (km/h)

Specify the speed that will be used as the speed threshold for the run.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value, or type the required value directly into the value box.

In (s)

Specify the time (in seconds) that the speed should be achieved in.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value, or type the required value directly into the value box.

Pass Condition(s) settings for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests in VBOX Test Suite.

You can specify a channel that can be used to easily identify if certain parameters have exceeded a set threshold. Any runs that have exceeded the specified values will be highlighted in red to mark it as Failed

The pass conditions can be set so that the run fails whenever the threshold is exceeded, either at the start of the test, at the end of the test, anytime during the test or averaged during the test.

Channel

Click on the dropdown arrow to see the list of available channels and select the one required for the condition.

Min Value

Specify the minimum value for the condition.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

Max Value

Specify the maximum value for the condition.

Use the arrow buttons next to the value box to increase/decrease the value or type the required value directly into the value box.

At

Click on the dropdown arrow to select the required time for the condition.

  • Anytime
  • Average
  • Start of Test
  • End of Test
  • Gate X

Add

Click on the + button to add another condition.

Delete

Click on the X button to remove a condition.

The Test Results area is the area that displays all of the results from the current test. In this area, you can include/exclude results from the Chart area, display the average/max/min values and also easily identify any runs that have not met the pass criteria.

Every time you start a new test (via the START button on the dashboard), or load a new file, a new tab will be added to the Test Results area. This gives you the ability to switch between separate tests or files and compare runs from each. You can remove a session from the Test Results area by clicking on the X icon on the session tab.

You can rename a session tab by double-clicking the tab header.

Changing the name on the session tab in the software will automatically change the name of the locally saved VBOX file (.vbo or .vbb).

By pressing the Edit Data button next to the name of the session in the Test Results area or on the Test Setup tab on the ribbon, you can add vehicle and test information to the session.

  • When in Offline mode, this information will be saved into the VBOX file, meaning that this information will be recalled every time the file is loaded into VBOX Test Suite.
  • When in Online mode, a newly created session will be populated with session data from the previous session.

This information will be included in the test report to make it easier to see under what conditions the test was conducted.

To save time, you can import and export the session information for use in other sessions (the entire range of data is exported, not just the visible screen).

Once the session information has been completed, you can export the data to a .vbses file. This file will contain all the session information that can then be imported into the open session information field.

Results Area in VBOX Test Suite showing the results from an WLTP GTR15 Coastdown test.

The Test Results area has the following default columns for WLTP GTR15 Coastdown tests:

Run

Indicates which run number the results relate to, with run one being the first run completed.

There is also a selection box that, when ticked, includes the run in the graph and into the Average/Max/Min/Standard Deviation calculations. Once selected, a coloured square will appear to indicate which colour this run is displayed as on the graph.

If you are loading a file in Offline mode, all valid runs will automatically be ticked.

TimeThe total time the run has taken.
DistanceThe total distance travelled in that run.
Start TimeThe UTC time at the start of the run.
Max Deceleration

The maximum absolute value of longitudinal deceleration between the 'start of test' and the 'end of test'.

If the Maximum Deceleration parameter is exceeded, this column will be highlighted with deep red, and the whole run will be highlighted with light red.

Time BreakdownThe time (in seconds) for the run to cover the speed Breakdown Intervals.
End Time (Ref.)The UTC time at the end of the run.
NotesNotes and comments added against the run.

The software will automatically add columns based on the configuration.

Speed Quality

When the Speed Quality setting has been selected, the Speed Quality column will be added to the Results table.

It will provide a PASS/FAIL indication of whether the Speed Quality criteria were met or not.

If the run failed, the Speed Quality cell will become deep red, and the whole row (run) will become light red.

VBOX Test Suite will identify whether an overlapping portion of the test is OK or Not OK

If the average force of the lower range deviates by either 10 N or 5% (whichever is greater) compared to the higher range, VBOX Test Suite will display the overlapping portion with a coloured tab in the Test Results table. This tab will either be green to indicate that the overlapping portion is OK or red to indicate that the overlapping portion is Not OK
