To enable LabSat 3 and LabSat 3 Wideband to be used for applications that require automated or remote control functionality, an application programme interface (API) is available together with a manual for communication via Telnet over IP.

The LabSat 3 and LabSat 3 Wideband API is a Microsoft .NET API to allow functions of a LabSat 3 or LabSat 3 Wideband connected via LAN to be accessed programmatically.
LabSat 3 and LabSat 3 Wideband are equipped with an Ethernet interface to allow remote control over a Local Area Network (LAN). Remote control is accomplished using simple text based commands through the Telnet protocol.
