LabSat Antenna Matrix

The choice of antenna for record and replay testing is crucial to the accuracy and relevance of the tests. LabSat record and replay simulation systems are supplied with magnetic active ‘patch’ antennas.

The antenna supplied with the LabSat record & replay systems is an active antenna and is not suitable for rebroadcast to a receiver with an internal antenna. As most counties have regulations regarding retransmission of signal it is essential that you are aware of the local rules for retransmission.

A small selection of rebroadcast antennas are available from Racelogic and will need to be used in an RF screened environment. To assist with testing of internal antenna devices, Racelogic also supply a LabSat GNSS Test Enclosure for use with devices with internal antennas like Smartphones and Satellite navigation devices.

When recording GNSS signals with LabSat systems the supplied antenna must have a suitable ground plane such as a car roof. We would always advise that you consider using the antenna that is to be used in the application or device you are testing. If the antenna is a passive antenna which would be placed next to the receiver in the device, you may need to use an LNA to boost the power and cover the signal loss of the cable connected to the device under test (DUT).

RLACS225

The RLACS225 is constructed of .090 aluminium utilising precision machined tolerances throughout to maintain a RF-Tight environment. The special 'double lip' technology provides RF isolation greater than 90 dB down at 1 GHz. The heavy-duty RF sealed cover hinges open and close with a precision air piston. Once closed, a large RF tight viewing window overlooks the entire working area within the enclosure.

Hands-on troubleshooting, tuning and access to the device under test are accomplished using specially designed, silver impregnated, ultra-fine mesh gloves that offer excellent manual dexterity and hands-on access to the equipment under test. The entire interior is lined with RF absorbent foam that provides 24 dB attenuation. The work area has built-in illumination via two low voltage incandescent lamps powered by the RF Filtered AC Supply.
