01 - OLED - Hardware Setup

Using with a Video VBOX

When setting up the DSP04 OLED display with a Video VBOX, it is important to connect to the correct port of the OLED display. The OLED display only has a serial connection on the lower connector, with the buttons on the right hand side. 

 

The configuration is indicated on a label on the rear of the OLED display. ​

Use an RLCAB063 to connect a DSP04 OLED to a Video VBOX Pro.

Use an RLCAB092 to connect a DSP04 OLED to a Video VBOX Lite.

Use an RLCAB092-H to connect a DSP04 OLED to a Video VBOX Waterproof.

To connect to a Video VBOX Lite, you should connect the cable into the ‘AUX’ port.

To connect to a Video VBOX Pro, you should connect the cable into the ‘SER’ port.

Note: For older 2CAM Video VBOX units – use the ‘DATA’ port.

 

To connect to a Video VBOX Waterproof, you should connect the cable into the ‘SER’ port.

Using with a VBOX Micro/ VBOXPerformance Box Sport

DSP04 OLED can be used in conjunction with VBOX Micro/ Performance Box Sport to show speed parameters only. As with the Video VBOX, the serial connector on the OLED display must be used when connecting to these units. 

Use an RLCAB077 to connect a DSP04 OLED into the ‘COMS’ port on VBOX Micro / PB Sport.

Using with a VBOX 3i/ VBOX 3/ VBOX II

DSP04 OLED can be used in conjunction with VBOX 3i/ VBOX 3/ VBOX II to show speed parameters only. Connection to the OLED display from any of these units can be made to either port on the OLED.

Use an RLCAB063-C to connect a DSP04 OLED to a VB3 / VBII unit.

Note: Due to the reduced functionality of the OLED when to connected to one of the VBOX's listed above, RLCAB063-C has serial connection disconnected to ensure that the VBOX serial data stream is not disturbed.
