Blind Spot Detection Testing (BSD)

Overview

Blind Spot Detection systems automatically detect when a vehicle has entered road space in which it becomes invisible to the car it is passing. The system alerts the driver to the presence of the overtaking car via a warning light appearing on the wing mirror. Some of the latest vehicle models have been developed to intervene by counter steering should a collision be likely.

To develop and test the accuracy of Blind Spot Detection systems it is necessary to know the position of the passing car in relation to the car being overtaken. The VBOX 3i package allows ADAS developers to easily verify the effectiveness of their product by providing ±2cm positional accuracy.
